I own a 2014 Chevrolet Trailblazer with a 2.8L diesel turbo engine. I've attempted to block the EGR system to improve engine response and reduce black smoke. However, after doing so, my check engine light remains on. The OBD-II diagnostic tool reads fault code P0401, which indicates an EGR system performance issue. Notably, 2015 Trailblazer models don't show this symptom when the EGR is blocked. I'm seeking advice on how to resolve the check engine light and properly address the P0401 code without damaging the engine. Any guidance or technical solutions would be greatly appreciated.
