I recently had to pass an emissions test and was previously experiencing a P0404 code related to the EGR valve, which caused my check engine light to stay on. I replaced both the EGR valve and its associated pipe, then cleared the fault code. Since the repair, however, the emergency brake (E) light has come on, along with a new diagnostic code U0073 indicating 'Communication Bus A Off'. While I understand this is typically related to a module issue, I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this after replacing the EGR valve. Could it be related to calibration issues with the new component? Any insights into potential causes or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Possible root causes include: key left in ignition during repairs, issues with the ignition switch, charging system or battery voltage, or a remote starter system interfering with communication. These are common culprits in vehicles like the 2006 Chevrolet Equinox.
