Chevrolet Captiva 2.0D (C20DM) 2007 - Fault Codes P0047 and P0045 Causing Turbo Cut-Out

Model: Chevrolet Captiva Fault Code: P0045 Posted: 2013-09-21 08:06

Hi, I'm Jarle from Norway. I recently purchased a 2007 Chevrolet Captiva with engine code C20DM (2.0D). After approximately 3 to 4 months of ownership, I've started experiencing issues where the turbocharger shuts off unexpectedly. I tried adjusting the vacuum valve connected to the turbo, but this did not resolve the problem. The vehicle is now displaying diagnostic trouble codes P0047 and P0-45. Could anyone provide insight or suggestions on how to troubleshoot these specific fault codes? Any experience with similar issues on this model? Best regards, Jarle

The C20DM engine is not commonly found in the U.S. market, so standard troubleshooting resources may be limited. However, the issue appears to stem from the circuit supplying power to the boost solenoid — not necessarily a failure of the solenoid itself. A wiring diagram would be a valuable starting point for diagnosis.

Thanks for the clarification. Could you recommend where I might find a reliable wiring diagram for the Chevrolet Captiva 2.0D (C20DM) model? Online databases like ALLDATA, local auto repair shops, car enthusiast clubs, or a targeted Google search could be helpful options.

A good starting point would be your local Chevrolet dealership, online resources such as ALLDATA, automotive forums, or car clubs. Since the C20DM engine is not widely used in North America, support and documentation are limited. A targeted search on Google with specific model details (e.g., 'Chevrolet Captiva 2007 C20DM wiring diagram') may yield useful results.
