C219 350CDI Fuel Rail Pressure Issue: P0087 Low and P0088 High Diagnosis
Hello. I'm experiencing an intermittent fuel rail pressure problem on my C219 350CDI, which has triggered both DTC codes P0087 (fuel rail pressure low) and P0088 (fuel rail pressure high). The symptoms include engine stalling when coming to a stop and sudden loss of power at low speeds, resulting in a complete engine shutdown. After researching the issue, I suspect a faulty fuel pressure sensor, but I'm now wondering if the sensor readings are accurate or whether the actual fuel pressure is too low or too high. Could this be due to a failing fuel pump, clogged injectors, or a leak in the rail system? Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. I'm located in Lancashire, England and am looking for reliable technical advice to help diagnose and resolve this issue before further damage occurs.
