P0102 OBD2 Code in 1997 Buick Riviera 3.8L Supercharged - How to Fix and Reset

Model: Buick Riviera Fault Code: P0102 Posted: 2016-09-01 16:30

Hi, I'm having a persistent P0102 fault code on my 1997 Buick Riviera with the 3.8L supercharged engine. I've already replaced the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor and was advised that the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) might also need replacement. I've performed several maintenance tasks including an oil flush, spark plug and wire replacement, and a new air filter installation. The fuel filter is clogged with rust, but that's a separate issue. My main concern is the P0102 code that continues to appear even after these repairs — I can't reset it. This is causing me to spend nearly $20 per day on fuel just for commuting 15 minutes to school during rush hour. The car is consuming fuel at an alarming rate, and I'm deeply concerned about the cost. While I have a solid mechanical background, I'm struggling to identify what's wrong. I apologize for the length of this post — I wanted to ensure all possible causes were covered before seeking help.
