Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 2000 BMW 54-0i with 173,640 miles. The vehicle is equipped with a 4.4L V8 engine and an automatic transmission (MPack system installed). On Saturday night, the 'Service Engine Soon' light activated. I used an OBD2 scanner on Sunday and retrieved fault code P0440 — indicating an evaporative emissions control system problem. I've already checked the gas cap — it appears to be functioning properly. I also inspected all hoses and didn't observe any visible cracking or damage. Additionally, I recently completed an oil change on Friday afternoon, so the engine was under the hood for a while. Can anyone provide guidance on this issue?
