BMW E46 2002 P1638 and P0221 Error Codes: Can This Be Fixed at Home or by a Technician?

Hi everyone, My BMW E46 2002 has started intermittently displaying error codes P1638 (Throttle Valve Position Control - Throttle Stuck Temporarily) and P0221 (Throttle/Petal Position Sensor/Switch B Circuit Range/Performance Problem). The issue appears only after driving for a long distance, then leaving the car unattended for about 30 minutes before restarting. The symptoms seem to reappear when I drive again. I'm wondering if this fault can be diagnosed and repaired at home using basic tools, or whether it requires professional BMW technician intervention. Any experience with these specific error codes on a 2002 BMW E46? Any tips for troubleshooting? Thanks, Matt.
