2002 F-150 Bifuel Issue: Service Engine Light On with Codes P1405 and P0460, CNG Switch Not Functioning

Model: Bifuel Fault Code: P0460 Posted: 2015-07-15 18:40

The service engine light has come on in my 2002 Ford F-150 bi-fuel vehicle, and the switch that allows me to switch between gasoline and natural gas (CNG) is no longer working. The truck currently runs only on gasoline and does not transition to CNG. I am wondering if the illuminated service engine light—specifically with diagnostic codes P1405 (DPF EGR sensor circuit high voltage) and P0460 (fuel level sensor circuit malfunction)—is directly related to the failure of the bifuel switch.

Updated status: The service engine light triggered two codes—P1405 (DPF EGR sensor circuit high voltage) and P0460 (fuel level sensor circuit malfunction). I have successfully resolved the P1405 issue, but the P0460 code and the bifuel switch failure persist. The truck still does not switch to CNG and remains on gasoline only.

Does anyone know if there's a direct connection between the P0460 diagnostic trouble code and the malfunction of the CNG fuel switch in a 2002 F-150 bi-fuel system? Could this code be causing the switch to fail or prevent proper mode switching? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
