Audi A4 TDI 2.0 2010 - P2002, P2453, P2454 Fault Codes and Engine Management Light On

Model: Audi A4 Fault Code: P2002 Posted: 2017-07-14 14:41

Hi everyone, I'm looking for help with my 2010 Audi A4 TDI 2.0. The engine management light has come on, and after taking it to a local garage for diagnostics, they reported three fault codes: P2002, P2453, and P2404. I have no experience with car mechanics, so I'm not sure what these mean or how to fix them. Can anyone explain the issue and suggest next steps?

The emissions system on your Audi A4 TDI is likely experiencing issues due to diesel engine characteristics. Modern diesels use a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to reduce particulate matter. The fault codes suggest the DPF may not be functioning efficiently, possibly due to clogging or sensor failure. A DPF regeneration cycle can often resolve this issue temporarily. However, given that your vehicle is over 10 years old, the filter might be nearing end-of-life and require replacement. Routine diesel maintenance—such as regular filter cleaning and fluid checks—is recommended in owner's manuals for long-term performance.

Hi Kev2, are P2453 and P2454 typically linked to DPF issues on Audi A4 TDI models? Raif1, have you found a solution yet? I'm experiencing the same three fault codes (P2002, P2453, P2454) on my Audi A6—any advice on how to diagnose or fix this?
