Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and recently encountered a persistent issue on my Audi A4 B6 (2001 model) petrol engine. The vehicle is showing fault code P0010 - 'A' Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1), which is associated with irregular idle RPM behavior. At idle, the RPM fluctuates between 700 and 900 RPM — sometimes it stabilizes at around 800 RPM. However, during steady idling, the engine exhibits noticeable jumps in speed. When I press the accelerator pedal, the RPM increases smoothly without any irregularities. I've already checked the wiring harness, connectors, fuses, and performed a basic diagnostic. The solenoid was removed and tested — it functions properly. However, the issue persists. Any insights or troubleshooting steps for this specific P0010 code on an Audi A4 B6 2001 would be greatly appreciated.

I've been experiencing the same P0010 fault code on my Audi A4 B6. I tested and replaced the camshaft position actuator solenoid — it was functional, but after reinstallation, the issue remained. Hello, I resolved my P0010 issue on an Audi A4 B6 (2001 petrol) through a series of steps: - Removed the camshaft position actuator solenoid (located near the throttle body), which was functional — I cleaned it and reinstalled. - Cleaned all ignition coils and spark plugs thoroughly. - Disassembled and completely cleaned the throttle body, restoring it to mint condition before reinstalling. After these steps, the idle RPM stabilized. However, about two months later (and after a few more days), the RPM fluctuations returned. I repeated the process: re-cleaned the throttle body, replaced some hoses as preventive measure, and the issue was resolved again. This suggests that while the P0010 code may point to an actuator or sensor issue, physical contamination or carbon buildup in the throttle body could be a contributing factor. This experience might help others facing similar idle instability with this fault code.
