Audi A3 P2004 and P2006 Fault: Common Rail CBBB Issue - Diagnosis and Solutions

Model: Audi A3 Fault Code: P2004 Posted: 2020-08-16 02:42

Hello, After researching extensively on common diagnostic codes for Audi vehicles, I'm seeking help with a persistent issue I've been facing. Initially, my Audi A3 displayed codes P2015, P2004, and P2006 when connected to the OBD-II scanner. Upon inspecting the intake manifold runner, I discovered that it had never been cleaned before. Since no cleaning was possible at that time, I replaced the intake manifold cover with a brand-new one featuring fresh flaps and performed a throttle body clean and re-adaptation. After this procedure, the engine light remained on, and codes P2004 and P2-006 persisted. I also inspected all vacuum hoses for leaks or holes—no issues were found. I replaced the solenoid valve based on the assumption it might be faulty, but the problem remains unchanged. I've been troubleshooting this issue for several months with no resolution. The system continues to report that the flaps are stuck in either open or closed positions on Bank 1A. My question: Is it possible to simply remove the flaps entirely as a workaround to resolve these persistent P2004 and P2006 codes? Any insights, suggestions, or known fixes would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, I'm experiencing the same issue. I initially had P2009; after replacing the intake manifold, I now see P2004 and P2006. Any advice on how to resolve this?\n

Yes, a complete replacement of the intake manifold is required along with a new actuator motor. Afterward, you must perform a full flap adaptation using VCDS software. Please be cautious—only use OEM or certified aftermarket parts to avoid further issues. Good luck!
