Audi A3 2007 2.0 TDI Quattro S-line P0471 Exhaust Pressure Sensor A Circuit Range Fault - How to Fix?

Model: Audi A3 Fault Code: P0471 Posted: 2011-07-03 14:43

Hi everyone, I'm looking for reliable advice on resolving the P0471 fault code on my 2007 Audi A3 2.0 TDI Quattro S-line. The error code P0471 indicates an exhaust pressure sensor A circuit range fault, which triggers the engine management light. While I haven't noticed any noticeable performance issues, the code reappears after a few hours even after replacing a loose engine bay cover and clearing the fault using a diagnostic tool. I suspect this could be related to a faulty exhaust pressure sensor or wiring issues. The fact that it returns repeatedly suggests a persistent signal issue rather than a temporary connection problem. Any insights, especially from owners of similar models, would be very helpful before I schedule a visit to a mechanic.

Given that P0471 is a sensor range/performance fault, it's most likely the exhaust pressure sensor A itself needs replacement. Check for corrosion or loose connections in the wiring harness as well—these are common causes on Audi A3 TDI models.
