99 Chevrolet Suburban P0302 Misfire: Diagnosis, Fixes & Real-World Solutions
I recently replaced the AC Delco distributor cap and swapped spark plugs from cylinders 2 and 4. After a test drive on the freeway covering approximately 40 miles (normally only 20 miles are needed to trigger the issue), the check engine light did not come back on. However, I still observed a pending P0300 random misfire code and noticed a noticeable spark knock when accelerating at high speeds. The vehicle is a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban with a 5.7L V8 engine, 4x4 configuration, automatic transmission, and around 93,000 miles.
