1999 Ford Crown Victoria - P0305 Code After Intake Replacement

Model: 99 ford crown victoria Fault Code: P0305 Posted: 2007-11-12 05:56

I own a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria. The car ran fine during my commute to work, but that evening it began having idle issues. I took it to a mechanic who replaced the Idle Air Control (IAC) motor and discovered an intake manifold leak. After replacing the intake manifold, two diagnostic trouble codes appeared: P0350 and P0305. The P0350 code has since cleared, but P0305 remains. I've already replaced the coil pack and spark plug, and also rotated the fuel injectors—none of these changes resolved the issue. I’ve sprayed carburetor cleaner around the intake area, but no improvement was observed. What could be causing this persistent P0305 code? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill

The issue is likely related to a spark plug, spark plug wire, or vacuum leak—especially since the problem emerged after the intake manifold was replaced. It's recommended you return to the shop that performed the work and have them re-inspect for potential installation errors or leaks.
