99 Durango Code P1297 New Map Sensor???????????????
I am getting the P1297 Code on a 99 Durango. I believe it will need a new map sensor. But if anything else might cause this I would be eager to find out before I waist the $90 on the sensor.

yea a lot of miles to is almost to 180,000 runs like new except for this.

My truck is showing the same code. Just wondering if your truck is stalling? Or stumbling on acceleration? I took the map sensor out, had a lot of carbon build up, cleaned it. Ran fine for 8 hours then continued with the same problem.

Solutions23 - this topic is @10years old ! ! Start a new topic- year,make,mode, engine - describe issues. Then list any and all codes... a brief maintence history, what you have done tried or changed.
Well you could check the +5 volts supply wire to the sensor and see if thats good, and take sensor out and inspect vacuum port for blockage. Unlikely problem could be with wire harness. If all is ok, then probably its a deffective MAP sensor, the truck seen some years.
