I recently purchased a 1998 Ford Windstar and discovered that the transmission was slipping severely after only about 15 minutes of driving. After replacing the transmission with a new unit, I now have eight OBD II powertrain-related diagnostic codes: PO122, PO743, PO750, PO751, PO755, PO

An additional observation: the overdrive indicator light on the gear selector is flashing intermittently.

The range sensor located at the top of the transmission is a known common issue in 1998 Ford Windstars. Proper adjustment of this sensor is critical for smooth shifting and long-term transmission performance. I recommend replacing it with a new one from your local Ford dealer and consulting the official service manual for correct adjustment procedures.
