1998 Dodge Dakota R/T P0171 and P0174 Fault Codes: MAF Sensor, Vacuum Leaks, and Engine Diagnostics
I own a 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T with 114,000 miles. The vehicle is showing fault codes P0171 (System Too Lean Bank 1) and P0174 (System Too Lean Bank 2). I want to know if this truck is equipped with a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, and whether it could be the root cause of these lean conditions. I've already replaced the PCV valve and inspected all vacuum lines, but I'm looking for a reliable vacuum lines diagram — does anyone know where I can find one? This vehicle is powered by a 5.9L V8 engine.
The 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T does not have a MAF sensor; it uses only a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Please check your fuel pressure and inspect both the upstream and downstream oxygen sensors for proper function.
