98 chevy c2500 p0300 random misfire

Model: 98 chevrolet c2500 Fault Code: P0300 Posted: 2017-03-29 10:23

so my chevy started misfiring a while back but I really paid no attention to it because It was hardly noticeable. Shortly after though it started to backfire/surge when I turn right. ONLY when I turn right. the mechanic I bought the truck from replaced distributor, wires, plugs. I replaced the spider injectors myself. the SES light turns on and off at random times. itll be on for a few days then be off for a week. Im trying to see if anyone has had any similar issues or could give me any info on what could be possibly wrong. Could it be an electrical ground somewhere or mechanical? im going crazy trying to figure it out. Anything helps -Jason S

scan for codes - if the light was on there is a code. Do a fuel pressure check - post psi - then leaving KOEO observe pressure drop ie drops Xpsi in 5min.

Seems to be related when engine is leaning to left as you turn right. Try to put revers and drive up hill and see if fault occurs as engine will be leaning to the left also, please post result. Could be wiring loom or mechanical fault.

Ok. So fuel pressure is notch. Just replaced the fuel pump in it. There was hole in the hose.... after that I ran a compression check. All cylinders seem fine. Ranging from 185 to 170 psi. All relatively close in range. Plugs look fine. Spark tested each wire. Just trying to rule out ignition first. But the goddamn code is still on and off intermittently.

what is 'notch' ? fuel pressure it is read in PSI. There are no other codes ? Do a fuel pressure check - post psi - then leaving KOEO observe pressure drop ie drops Xpsi in 5min.
