1997 Chevrolet C1500 4.3L Engine Fault Codes P0140, P0151, P0302 - Causes and Diagnosis
I own a 1997 Chevrolet C1500 with a 4.3L V6 engine. The vehicle is displaying three engine fault codes: P0140, P0151, and P0302. I'm trying to understand whether the first two codes (P0140 and P0151) could be contributing to or causing the third code (P030
I don't believe these codes are directly related. It's more likely that each is a separate issue. P0302 refers to a misfire on cylinder #2 — check the spark plug for proper firing, inspect its condition (wet/dry, color: black, tan, or white), and use an OBD2 scanner or digital multimeter to monitor oxygen sensor voltages. P0140 indicates insufficient activity in the heater circuit of the oxygen sensor on Bank 1, Sensor 2. P0151 shows a low voltage reading from the oxygen sensor on Bank 2, Sensor 1. These are distinct problems and should be addressed individually.
