Error Code P1550 on 96 Nissan Sentra
1996 Nissan Sentra, 60k miles, 4 cylinder. My car's check engine light came on so I plugged in an OBD-II reader and it reports P1550 (TCC Solenoid Valve). What and where is the TCC Solenoid Valve for this car? Thanks in advance...
Good question, off hand I don't know. Perhaps someone else here will know. An AllData subscription should tell you. I did a quick search and it appears it's internal to your transmission which is what I suspected (I had a solenoid go bad on a Ford tranny one time, big $$ to fix). Here's a Maxima diagram, and a Pathfinder one. Are there any driveability issues? How is the transmission shifting? When I had a solenoid go out it took the tranny with it and I had to replace the tranny. If there are no symptoms besides the check engine light, I would recommend you clear the code and see if it comes back. If there are issues, let us know.
