'96 Chevy C1500 P0300
I have a '96 Chevy C1500, 4.3L V6, auto trans. First, the truck wouldn't start. Changed distributor cap and rotor. Coil, plugs, and wires all been replaced within the last couple years, maybe 20k miles on them. When that didn't work, I checked the fuel pressure, and that was low. Changed fuel filter, and now it starts, but I've run into another problem. It misfires really bad, and there's a clicking noise. Getting a P0300 code, and the CES light flashes after a few seconds. I'm tired of working outside in the snow, so I'm wondering if it will safely drive about 5 blocks to the garage, and if it could be the cap and rotor I used on it. I plan on doing a compression test as soon as I can get it to the garage. As I said, I'm tired of doing this stuff out in the cold and snow.
New fuel filter doesn't rule out fuel pressure that is too low! I'd get it to a pro if the snow is getting too deep!
