2007 F350 6.0 Powerstroke P0299 Code Returning After Turbo and Back Pressure Sensor Replacement

Model: 6.0 PowerStroke Fault Code: P0299 Posted: 2014-12-03 17:51

I own a 2007 Ford F350 with the 6.0L diesel engine, currently at around 83,000 miles. The vehicle previously exhibited a P0299 diagnostic trouble code (DTC), which prompted a factory service at 67,000 miles where both the turbocharger and back pressure sensor were replaced. Recently, the same P0299 code has reappeared. Initially, it triggered the wrench light; after reading and clearing the code, I now experience intermittent engine warning light activation—approximately every 2 to 3 drive cycles—with no noticeable loss of power or performance. The truck otherwise runs smoothly and reliably. While I've replaced the MAP sensor hose due to visible crust buildup, I suspect a faulty sensor may be contributing to the recurring P0299 code. However, I'm uncertain which specific sensors (such as the back pressure sensor, turbo pressure sensor, or intake manifold pressure sensor) are involved in generating this code. Any insights from experienced owners or technicians on diagnosing and resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
