2016 Jetta 1.8T TSI P0238 Fault Code: Diagnosis and Sensor Replacement Guidance
Hello! I recently purchased a 2016 Jetta with only 4.5k miles on the odometer. The vehicle was involved in a minor front-end collision, resulting in damage to the hood radiator support and left headlight. Since then, I've been experiencing a persistent P023-8 diagnostic trouble code (DTC). After several days of troubleshooting, I'm still unsure which sensor is responsible. I already removed the intake manifold sensor (part #03G906051E), located on the pipe connecting the intake valve cover to the intake manifold. Upon testing, I measured 5.2V at the sensor plug—no noticeable improvement in engine performance. Before replacing this component, I'd like confirmation: is this the correct sensor for P0238? Is it even necessary to replace given the vehicle's low mileage and recent accident? Any expert advice or guidance on diagnosing this code would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
