P0301 Misfire and Stabilitrak Warning in 2016 Chevy Malibu 4-Cylinder Turbo - Check Engine Light On
I recently had an oil change and after driving my 2016 Chevrolet Malibu 4-cylinder turbo, both the check engine light and traction control (Stabilitrak) light turned on simultaneously. The vehicle has been experiencing a slight misfire for about two days, with noticeable shaking during operation. I drove it home and observed that the traction control light flickered on and off even after pressing the 'reset' button available in the dashboard. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is P0301, indicating a cylinder 1 misfire. The car has only 32,000 miles and was purchased from my uncle exactly 20 days ago. I initially planned to start troubleshooting with spark plugs and coil packs, but the persistent Stabilitrak warning is confusing — even after resetting it via the vehicle’s system. Additionally, I noticed that the engine fan has been running for over a minute after turning off the car, which hasn as never happened before. This behavior is new and concerning. Can anyone explain what might be causing this? Any advice on how to diagnose or fix both the P0301 misfire and the Stabilitrak issue would be greatly appreciated.
