P0012 and P0022 Fault Codes on 2015 Ford Mustang GT at 400 Miles: Diagnosis and Fix
My 2015 Ford Mustang GT is exhibiting rough acceleration and jerking during drive, accompanied by persistent P0012 and P0022 diagnostic trouble codes. When I temporarily unplug the intake camshaft position sensors, the engine runs smoothly. This suggests a potential issue with sensor signal detection or camshaft timing control. However, after replacing both intake camshaft position sensors for Bank 1 and Bank 2, the symptoms and fault codes persist. The behavior indicates that the problem may not be rooted in the sensors themselves but rather in the variable valve timing (VVT) system, particularly the VVT solenoid or its associated wiring.
Could this issue be caused by a faulty camshaft position sensor or a malfunctioning VVT actuator? I'm trying to determine whether the problem lies with the sensors or the valve timing control system.
