2014 VW Jetta 1.8L Repeatedly Stalls with P0011 Camshaft Timing Sensor Code
I purchased my 2014 VW Jetta about 6-8 weeks ago and have been driving it without issues until a recent trip out of town covering approximately 200 miles. During that journey, the check engine light activated, and after stopping to get it diagnosed, the OBD-II code P0011 — Camshaft Position Sensor (Timing) — was detected. I safely returned home. The following day, I began experiencing stalling specifically when stopped in evening rush-hour traffic. This issue worsened over time. Last weekend, I took my vehicle to a mechanic who replaced the camshaft timing sensor. The car ran smoothly for about two days before the problem returned — it now stalls again while idling or during stop-and-go traffic. I've verified the VIN and confirmed that all available software updates and recall notices relevant to this model year have been completed. The OBD-II scanner continues to show P0011. I'm seeking advice on potential fixes, as this issue appears recurring despite the sensor replacement. A log file has been uploaded for reference. Any insights or solutions from owners of 2014 VW Jetta 1.8L models with similar symptoms would be greatly appreciated.
