2014 VW Jetta Cylinder Misfire: OBD Codes, Check Engine Light, and Repair Steps
I'm currently driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta and recently experienced multiple cylinder misfires. A few weeks ago, the issue appeared intermittently, and after replacing the spark plugs, the car seemed to run smoothly for several days. However, during a recent 8-hour drive out of state, the vehicle began shaking noticeably, and the check engine light turned on again. Upon connecting an OBD2 scanner (OBD Fusion), I retrieved the same misfire-related trouble codes as before (see attached image). I'm not very experienced with car diagnostics, but I'm comfortable doing basic maintenance work myself. The issue has returned despite spark plug replacement, which makes me suspect deeper problems such as faulty ignition coils, fuel delivery issues, or sensor malfunctions. Any advice on diagnosing and fixing this misfire problem in a 2014 Jetta would be greatly appreciated. Specifically, how to interpret the OBD codes B9472BBA-FE69-4540-9B0C-A570F70A2A55 and what components should be checked next? Thanks for your help!
