P0136 Diagnostic Code on 2013 Chevrolet Malibu After Front Bumper Collision

Model: 2013 Malibu Fault Code: P0136 Posted: 2017-11-06 13:14

Hello, I own a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ. After being hit from the rear, one of the park assist sensors shifted and moved into the bumper. When I attempted to shift into reverse, the vehicle's display showed an alert: 'Boz - sensor inside bumper'. I took the car to a repair shop where they replaced the bumper and reconnected the wiring harness attached to the bumper. However, after the repair, my vehicle began displaying Diagnostic Code P0136 and the park assist feature stopped working. The issue appears to be related to sensor misalignment or improper connection post-impact. I would like to know what steps I should take next to resolve this code and restore functionality. Any advice or guidance on how to properly diagnose and fix this would be greatly appreciated.

It's possible the repair shop did not fully reposition or recalibrate the sensor. Consider having a professional technician verify sensor alignment and perform a full diagnostic check to ensure proper functionality.
