2013 Dodge Grand Caravan P0882 Code: Symptoms and Fix for Dashboard Lights, AC Shutdown, and Engine Stalling

Model: 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan Fault Code: P0882 Posted: 2020-08-05 15:33

Hi everyone, I've been dealing with a recurring P0882 diagnostic trouble code for over a year without finding a permanent solution. Approximately 8 months ago, the remote control module was diagnosed as defective and replaced. Since then, the vehicle has run smoothly until about two weeks ago when the P0882 code reappeared. No other error codes are present in the system. However, just before the issue occurs, I notice several warning signs: - The dashboard seatbelt light stays illuminated. - The traction control light activates. - If the air conditioning is running, the blower motor shuts off abruptly. - Eventually, the engine stalls completely. This sequence can be extremely alarming, especially while driving on highways or freeways. When the engine cuts out, all power to the vehicle momentarily fails for about 2 seconds before restoring itself. In some cases, this shutdown cycle repeats every 2 seconds. If the vehicle is stopped, turning off and then back on the key fob allows the engine to restart successfully. While driving, the issue may reoccur with the same symptoms. The problem often resolves after the vehicle has sat overnight or for several hours, with normal operation lasting from days to weeks. On one occasion, I noticed erratic transmission shifting just before the engine shutdown. Specifically, shifting from Park to Drive now feels like a hard thud instead of the usual smooth transition. I'm hoping someone who's experienced this issue can share a reliable fix or diagnosis. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
