I recently received a P0343 diagnostic code on my 2012 Volkswagen Beetle with a 2.5L 5-cylinder engine. The vehicle exhibits poor performance, struggling to maintain RPMs above 3000. I'm wondering if other owners of the same model have experienced this issue. Specifically, should I replace the camshaft position sensor, or are there other potential causes? I've tested the circuit from the ECU to the cam sensor and found it intact, but no power signal is detected at terminal 3 of the sensor. Any insights or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

I'm experiencing the same P0343 issue on my 2012 VW Beetle. The car fails to run beyond 3000 RPM and shows no power signal from the ECU to terminal 3 of the camshaft position sensor, although the wiring circuit between the ECU and sensor checks out as good. I'm currently troubleshooting this and will update if I find a resolution.
