2012 Ford Transit P2463 Fault Code - How to Fix Limp Mode and DPF Issues

Model: 2012 Ford Transit Fault Code: P2463 Posted: 2017-08-12 16:01

My 2012 Ford Transit has entered limp mode, and the only diagnostic code I'm seeing is P2463. What does this mean, and how can I fix it? The issue seems related to the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), as I've read that a clogged DPF may trigger this fault. Can someone explain what causes P2463 and provide steps for resolution?

The issue is likely related to the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) being unable to complete regeneration due to excessive soot buildup. The DPF cannot clean itself, which may indicate a failed 'vaporizer' sensor or a need for full DPF replacement. It's recommended to consult a certified Ford dealer for diagnosis and repair.

I've experienced the same P2460/P2463 issue on my 2012 SWB Ford Transit, which has only done 40k miles. After seven weeks of troubleshooting and spending hundreds of dollars, I had the vaporizer sensor replaced — it was completely blocked and preventing fuel flow. The mechanic also inspected other sensors, which appeared visually intact. The limp mode temporarily resolved after this fix, but a new fault code P0230 has now appeared. I hope this is simply a relay issue. Unfortunately, I'm still unable to fully resolve the problem. Anyone else with similar experiences or solutions?
