2012 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ 3.6L V6 P0300 Code: Persistent Check Engine Light and Traction Control Warning

Model: 2012 Chevy Malibu Fault Code: P0300 Posted: 2017-10-18 07:18

Good morning. I'm experiencing a persistent check engine light on my 2012 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ with a 3.6L V6 engine. After addressing the initially diagnosed issue, the problem has returned, now showing Diagnostic Trouble Code P0300 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire). When the vehicle is idling or stopped in traffic, I also receive service traction control and service ESC warnings, which trigger when the engine light is flashing. I'm looking for help identifying the root cause of this recurring issue.

You're experiencing an engine misfire, with three primary potential causes: 1) Ignition system - spark plugs or ignition coils 2) Fuel delivery - fuel injectors or fuel pressure 3) Mechanical issues - compression and vacuum integrity tests

I've already ruled out the ignition and fuel system components. What steps should I take to perform a compression test and vacuum check?

What was the fuel pressure? Might try a fuel pressure leak down test KOEO

Thanks for the advice — I'll try that next.
