2011 Hyundai Tucson P0079 Code: Cold Weather Rodent Damage and Wiring Issue

Model: 2011 Tucson Fault Code: P0079 Posted: 2018-04-05 15:36

I own a 2011 Hyundai Tucson with a 2.4L engine. During cold weather in central Florida, a rodent accessed the area between the fancy cover and the valve cover to find warmth. It chewed through wiring in that space. The next morning, only three cylinders started after the damage was discovered. Since then, the vehicle has displayed a P0079 diagnostic trouble code. I have been unable to clear this code using standard procedures. However, the engine runs smoothly and performs like new. Is there any known solution or troubleshooting steps for this specific issue? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

The key term here is CIRCUIT — specifically wiring damage. For more detailed information, refer to: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0079
