2011 Ford F150 P0741 Code: Transmission Shifting Issues After Battery Replacement
I own a 2011 Ford F15-0 4x4 crew cab. After sitting for six months while I was out of state, the battery died and I replaced it. Since restarting the vehicle, the 6-speed transmission has started shifting abruptly—either too hard or too soft—at random intervals. This behavior did not occur before the battery failure. I performed a complete power module (CPM) clear and reset as instructed, but the issue persists. The transmission appears to be either locked up or failing to engage properly in gear. In some cases, the throttle does not respond when the vehicle is in gear, even though engine performance returns to normal when shifting out of gear. The P0741 diagnostic code appears within three minutes of starting driving after clearing the code and resetting the main control module. I'm trying to determine whether this is an electrical fault or a sticky solenoid issue. I have a Lucas Oil transmission additive that may be compatible with my 2011 F150 transmission—does anyone know if it's safe to use in this model? Any insights or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, John
