2011 Toyota Equinox LS 2.4L Persistent P0172 Code After Injector and Pump Replacement

Model: 2011 Equinox LS 2.4L Fault Code: P0172 Posted: 2021-01-14 02:17

I'm seeking help with a persistent P0172 code on my 2011 Toyota Equinox LS 2.4L. Despite replacing all suspected components—including the fuel injectors and GDI fuel pump—and conducting thorough testing, the code continues to appear. The long-term fuel trim remains consistently between -20% and -35%, indicating a lean condition. I'm also experiencing intermittent misfires during deceleration, primarily in cylinders 1 and 4, along with a rough idle and poor acceleration under load. I've already tested the injectors and fuel pump, both of which passed diagnostics. However, the issue persists. Any additional suggestions or diagnostic steps would be greatly appreciated. If you have specific questions about my vehicle setup or symptoms, please feel free to ask.

Have direct fuel injectors been tested or replaced? This is a common point of failure in P0172 cases on the 2.4L engine.

Could you share your freeze frame data when the P0172 code is triggered? This would help identify exact conditions under which the lean condition occurs.
