2011 Dodge Dakota 3.7L Engine O2 Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 2 Low Voltage Fault

Model: 2011 dodge dakota Fault Code: P0171 Posted: 2017-02-25 16:33

I'm experiencing a P0157 fault code on my 2011 Dodge Dakota with the 3.7L engine, specifically indicating low voltage from Bank 2, Sensor 2. After replacing the oxygen sensor, the check engine light activates when the fuel tank is at half full and extinguishes when I refill it. My fuel consumption has significantly worsened. I'm seeking advice on how to diagnose this issue further and whether there could be a deeper underlying problem with the sensor circuit or fuel system.

To investigate gas consumption, please post your fuel trims (LT/ST) at idle, 1500 RPM, and 2500 RPM after the engine has warmed up. Hold each RPM for at least 30 seconds to ensure accurate readings. Regarding the P0157 code, set your OBD2 scanner to monitor the voltage of Sensor 2 while performing several snap throttle maneuvers. Observe if the sensor voltage can be driven from 1V down to 0.2V — this tests both the oxygen sensor and its circuit integrity. If there's no response during these maneuvers, it may indicate a faulty sensor circuit or wiring issue. Additionally, please share the freeze frame data from the P0157 event and confirm whether any other diagnostic trouble codes are present.
