2011 Chevrolet Cruze P101 and P0597 Codes: Rough Idle and Coolant Loss After MAF and Throttle Body Replacements
I own a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze with a 1.4L LS engine. Since purchasing this vehicle, it has consistently displayed the P101 diagnostic trouble code. I have already replaced the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor twice and the throttle body. After the second replacement of both components, the car ran smoothly for approximately one month. However, recently, a new code P0597 appeared, followed by complete coolant loss. I flushed the radiator and refilled the coolant, but symptoms have returned—now exhibiting rough idle at low speeds and occasionally shutting off when idling at traffic lights. Despite multiple repairs, the P101 code persists, and the vehicle continues to show poor idle performance. This indicates a recurring issue that seems resistant to standard fixes. I am seeking advice on how to resolve this persistent problem involving both P101 and P0597 codes in my 2011 Chevrolet Cruze.
