2011 Chevrolet Silverado P1010 P0172 P0175 Fault Codes - Cold Start Difficulty and Rich Mix Issues

Model: 2011 chevrolet silverado Fault Code: P0172 Posted: 2015-11-28 13:37

I'm experiencing multiple fault codes on my 2011 Chevrolet Silverado: P1010 (Mass Air Flow A Circuit Range/Performance Correlation), P0172 (Fuel Trim Too Rich), and P0175 (Fuel Trim Too Rich). The vehicle also struggles to start in cold weather. The P1010 code suggests an issue with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, while the P0172 and P0175 codes indicate a lean-to-rich fuel mixture condition. I'm wondering if this could be related to a clogged air filter or incorrect airflow sensing. Any advice on troubleshooting these codes or improving cold-start performance? Thanks, John

A MAF fault combined with rich fuel trim points to potential issues such as an unfiltered or oily air filter. Since your vehicle is stock, ensure you're not using an oiled air filter. Check for any additional diagnostic codes. With a scan tool, monitor key parameters including FTP (Fuel Temperature), ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature), O2 sensor voltages, then move to MAF, MAP, and TPS readings. If no other issues are found, perform a fuel pressure test and leak-down test with the engine off (KOEO). Inspect the intake system for any restrictions or leaks downstream of the throttle body. Please specify which engine you have (e.g., 5.3L) to narrow down diagnostics.
