P0157 Fault Code in 2010 Lexus RX350: Location, Causes, and Diagnosis Guide

Model: 2010 Lexus RX350 Fault Code: P0157 Posted: 2019-03-17 12:58

Hi everyone, I'm currently experiencing a P0157 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) on my 2010 Lexus RX350. Previously, there was a second fault code that I cleared before capturing it — unfortunately, it hasn't reappeared since. My main question is: Where exactly is the P0157 oxygen sensor located in this model? I've included two photos for reference. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

The P0157 code refers to Bank 2, Sensor 2 — this is typically located on the exhaust side of the engine, after the catalytic converter. It's worth noting that a lean-running engine may trigger this code. If you suspect your vehicle is running too lean, address that issue first. Could you please share your fuel trim readings at idle and at 3000 RPM? These will help determine if the engine is indeed running lean. If lean conditions are present, look for accompanying lean codes such as P0171 or P0174. Without those, the P0157 code may be less likely to persist. Potential causes include: - Air leaks in the exhaust system before the O2 sensor - Excessive engine lean (due to low fuel pressure, vacuum leaks, or faulty injectors) - Corroded or damaged O2 sensor connector - Shorted or open ground circuit in the O2 sensor wiring - A failed oxygen sensor (often contaminated by fuel or coolant) - PCM malfunction For more detailed information, see: https://www.autozone.com/p0157-oxygen-sensor-fault-code-explanation
