Kia Magneti 2010 2.0 CRDI Engine Management Light On - P1045 Code with Diesel Odor and Poor MPG

I have a 2010 Kia Magneti 2.0 CRDI (150 bhp) and recently the engine management light has come on. The diagnostic code displayed is P1045. Prior to this issue, I've noticed occasional smells of diesel inside the car, and my fuel efficiency has significantly dropped. Anyone else experiencing similar symptoms with this model? Does the P1045 fault typically relate to fuel system issues or sensor malfunctions?
