2010 Jeep Liberty 3.7L O2 Sensor P0032 Code Returning After Replacement

Model: 2010 Jeep Liberty 3.7 Fault Code: P0032 Posted: 2015-11-13 13:54

I own a 2010 Jeep Liberty with a 3.7L engine. I recently replaced the O2 sensor in Bank 1, Sensor 1, and the check engine light initially turned off and remained off for about one month. However, the code P0032 has returned. I'm looking for advice on possible causes or troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.

A possible cause is intermittent open circuit or high resistance in the heater wiring of the O2 sensor. Check whether the previously replaced sensor had an open heater circuit, as this could indicate a faulty component or wiring issue.

I'm not aware of any known issues with the 2010 Jeep Liberty's P0032 code specifically after O2 sensor replacement. How can one verify if the old sensor had a heater circuit failure?

A multimeter is required to test the heater circuit resistance and voltage. Refer to this forum’s trouble codes section for detailed causes and solutions. A healthy O2 sensor heater circuit should measure between 8 and 15 ohms. If the original sensor tested within that range, the issue likely lies in the wiring or electrical connections rather than the sensor itself.

I'll try testing with a volt/ohm meter to confirm circuit integrity and address any potential wiring faults. Thanks for the guidance!
