2010 Hyundai Elantra P0441 Diagnostic Trouble Code: Is It Covered Under Powertrain Warranty?

Model: 2010 Hyundai Elantra Fault Code: P0441 Posted: 2017-08-04 16:35

Dear OBD Car Issue Community, Today is August 4, 2017. I own a 2010 Hyundai Elantra with 70,571 miles on the odometer. Recently, I received notification that my warranty has been extended by five additional years through Hyundai Roadside Assistance. However, my original dealer—Fitzgerald Auto Mall—has informed me that this extended warranty only covers the powertrain components and does not extend to other systems. Is this accurate? Does the Powertrain Warranty actually cover a P0441 Diagnostic Trouble Code? I am concerned because if the P0441 code is indeed covered under the powertrain warranty, then my dealer service department should not be able to claim that repairing it will cost me out-of-pocket. If the repair is not covered, I would expect clear documentation and transparency from them. Could you please confirm whether a P0441 fault in a 2010 Hyundai Elantra falls under the powertrain warranty coverage? And if so, why? Thank you for your help. Best regards, Rosa Shoshana N. Please refer to our forum section on diagnostic trouble codes for common causes and solutions. A P0441 code typically relates to the evaporative emission control system, not directly to the powertrain. Therefore, it is unlikely that this specific code falls under the powertrain warranty coverage, even in a 2010 Hyundai Elantra.
