2010 Ford Focus 1.6 Diesel Turbo Issues: P0234, P0299, P0095 - Overboost and Underboost Errors After Turbo Replacement

Model: 2010 ford focus 1.6 diesel Fault Code: P0095 Posted: 2018-09-27 14:46

Hello, I recently had a new turbo installed on my 2010 Ford Focus 1.6 diesel model, and it has been running for approximately 300 miles since the installation. Since then, I've started receiving three diagnostic error codes: P0234 (Turbocharger Underboost), P0299 (Turbocharger Overboost), and P0095 (Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Malfunction). The presence of both underboost and overboost errors—P0234 and P0299—is highly unusual, as these conditions typically indicate conflicting turbo performance issues. While I understand that a faulty or incompatible turbo could be the root cause, I'm wondering if this dual error scenario is actually possible in a 2010 Ford Focus diesel. Could anyone confirm whether such simultaneous underboost and overboost errors can occur? If so, what are some potential causes—such as incorrect turbo fitment, sensor calibration issues, or wiring problems—that might explain these codes? Any insights or experiences with similar situations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Is the turbo you installed compatible with your ford? Sometimes the wrong turbo can set off strange code sequences.
