2010 Chevy Equinox Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High - Check Engine Light & Gauge Issues

I recently replaced both fuel level sensors in my 2010 Chevrolet Equinox because the fuel gauge consistently read empty and triggered the check engine light. After refueling, I cleared the fault code and the gauge functioned for about 30 seconds before returning to 'empty' and reactivating the check engine light.
