2010 Chevrolet Equinox C0287 Trouble Code: Longitudinal Acceleration Circuit Fault

Model: 2010 Chevy Equinox Fault Code: C0287 Posted: 2018-09-16 12:02

I own a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox Latitude with a 2.4L engine. The check engine light has come on and the diagnostic system reports trouble code C0287, indicating a longitudinal acceleration circuit malfunction. The vehicle's traction control system is now displaying an error related to this sensor. I've taken it to an authorized Chevrolet dealer, but they are unable to identify or resolve the issue. Can anyone provide insight into what this code means and where to look for repairs? Location: Van Cura, Sardinia, NY.

I have a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox 2.4L with the check engine light on and a service traction control message. The system reports code C028-7, which indicates a longitudinal acceleration sensor malfunction. My dealer has no idea what this means or where to start troubleshooting. Any help would be greatly appreciated! - Van Cura, Sardinia, NY

This issue is not uncommon and the code C0287 appears to have a typo in some references — it should be C0287 with specific sub-codes. Correct interpretations are: - C0287 4B: The longitudinal acceleration sensor signal is not calibrated. - C0287 5A: The longitudinal acceleration sensor signal is inconsistent with vehicle speed. - C0287 71: The EBCM received an invalid signal from the longitudinal acceleration sensor. There is a known issue documented in Chevrolet service bulletins related to this code. For reference, see official OBD-II diagnostic resources or service manuals. Note: I previously lived in Jamestown, NY — my dealer there was responsive and helpful.
