Mazda CX9 2009 P0022 Fault: Post-Repair Shuddering and Recurring Error Code
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing a recurring P0022 error code in my 2009 Mazda CX9, which has now reached 100,000 miles. I took the vehicle to the official Mazda dealer, where they performed a full engine inspection and replaced key components including the water pump, OCV 'O' ring, timing belt tensioner, and completed engine reassembly. After the repair, I noticed an unusual shuddering sensation when driving in gears 4 and 5—similar to driving over small ceramic bumps on a smooth road surface—even though the road was flat and even. To avoid this unsettling feeling, I had to reduce speed or decelerate abruptly. After driving approximately 125 miles, the engine warning light re-illuminated with the same P0022 code. Despite the repairs, the issue persists. I'm wondering what further diagnostics or checks should be performed to resolve this problem. Any insights from experienced owners or technicians would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Regards
It's possible the P0022 code and shuddering are related, but they may stem from different issues. Consider having a professional inspect the timing chain alignment or camshaft position sensor, as misalignment can cause both error codes and drivability problems. Also verify that all components were properly torqued during reassembly.
