I own a 2009 Ford Flex and have followed all the diagnostic steps outlined in the P0355 fault code article. My vehicle was running smoothly until I ran out of gas. After refueling, it now runs but fails to fire on cylinder #5. There is no pulse signal detected at this cylinder. I'm wondering if a failed fuel injector could be responsible for this issue. Is there any way to diagnose the problem before replacing the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Try swapping the ignition coil with another cylinder's coil to see if the P0355 code moves. If the code follows the coil, it points to a faulty ignition coil. This test can help determine whether the issue is with the coil or another component before replacing the PCM.
