I own a 2008 VW EOS 2.0 FSI model and recently encountered Diagnostic Code U0155. The car starts successfully but immediately cuts out after ignition. Additionally, I'm experiencing a yellow warning light on the steering wheel, engine warning light activation, and intermittent beeping sounds from the dashboard. This issue appears to be related to the immobilizer system. The vehicle does not show any signs of battery failure—battery voltage is sufficient for cranking—but the engine cuts out shortly after starting. I've already tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes with no improvement. The problem persists, and the car fails to start reliably under normal conditions. Is there a possible DIY fix or can this be resolved by a VW specialist? Given that it's a known issue on certain 2008 VW EOS models, I'm hoping for a cost-effective solution rather than a dealer visit (which could be expensive). The problem is not likely due to a weak battery. The dashboard alarm (not the car's physical alarm) activates, and the engine cuts out after starting. In my case, I discovered that there was an electrical power issue affecting the passenger-side electronics and the trunk latch—this caused intermittent faults in the vehicle’s computer systems. After removing fuses one by one to test for blown fuses, I inadvertently interrupted power supply to the ECU(s), which triggered this fault code.
