2008 Mercedes S55-0 P0015 Fault: Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 1 - Diagnosis and Solutions
Hello, I own a 2008 Mercedes S550 with 4MATIC. I recently received the OBD2 diagnostic code P0015, which indicates a 'Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 1' fault. I replaced two of the camshaft position sensors, but one week later, the check engine light came back on and the same P0015 code appeared. The engine runs smoothly with no performance issues. What should I do next to resolve this? Thank you for your help.
I'm experiencing the same issue on my 2006 Mercedes E350 with P0015. I replaced both intake and exhaust camshaft sensors on the passenger side. One thing I'm unsure about is whether 'passenger side' refers to Bank 1 or not — there's confusion in some sources regarding left/right terminology. In my case, I'm referring to a US model passenger-side setup, which should correspond to Cylinder 1. I want to emphasize that my M272 engine (early model) does not appear to be affected by balance shaft gear wear, unlike some other models. This might help clarify the root cause for others.
