My 2008 MazdaSpeed 3 developed a P0012 check engine code after the engine jumped timing due to lack of oil and was subsequently rebuilt. The mechanic confirmed that the timing is correctly set post-rebuild. However, when I apply wide open throttle (WOT) at high RPMs, the car loses power—similar to a misfire. This issue persists despite proper timing alignment. What could be causing this P0012-related performance loss?

Yes, my car started exhibiting this behavior after a head gasket replacement—specifically when reaching around 3 psi of boost. I'm also seeing the P0012 code. Has anyone found a reliable fix or diagnosis for this?
